Inaugural Church Service Moved to Convention Center, Opened to the Public

Frankfort, KY - Due to overwhelming response from the public, the church service preceding the December 8th Inauguration of Governor-Elect Matt Bevin and Lieutenant Governor-Elect Jenean Hampton has been moved to the Frankfort Convention Center. The service will now be open to the public.

“We are humbled by the outpouring of support from across the state,” said Kelly Knight, Inaugural Chairwoman. “Inauguration Day is about a fresh start for Kentucky, and as such, we want as many Kentuckians as possible to attend. I’m pleased that we were able to move this event to accommodate a larger crowd.”

The service is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. and will feature some of Kentucky’s most recognized Gospel recording artists, including Grammy Award and Dove Award winner Larnelle Harris. Ministers from across the Commonwealth will participate and represent a number of faith traditions.

The Kentucky State University Concert Choir will also perform, as part of a long-held inaugural tradition.
